Tweets of the Week – The Fifth Ashes Test

It was always going to be hard going into the Fifth and final Test at The Oval 3-0 down.  The Fourth Test was a nightmare of mammoth proportions for many Australian fans (myself included) who went to bed in the early hours content that things were going to be okay at 0-105.  To wake up to the horror that was Durham 2013 was something that many of us were going to take some time to recover from…

Australian’s aren’t very trusting in their openers at the moment…

… as we witnessed David Warner go cheaply – again.

Everyone’s favourite, Shane Watson, strode to the crease, elevated to number three…

And for the first time in a long time, we were happy! Sarcasm still was present though… after all, once bitten, fortieth time shy…

The debutantes for England were struggling and fans of The Castle were taking delight…

But many were still coming to terms with Watson’s performance…

Many were pleasantly surprised…

The new kids on the block were getting smashed from everyone…

And after a gutsy chase and declaration by Michael Clarke, it looked like we were going to get a result… UNTIL…

I guess the bonus was NOT losing an Ashes series 4-0, right?

Ah well. The Australian Summer can only be better… roll on the Ashes Down Under.
